Harlington Hospice would not be able to function without their network of volunteers. They believe volunteering is very much a two way street - they appreciate the time you are donating and the skills you bring and in return they hope you will be able to take advantage of the new experiences and opportunities they offer their volunteers within a supportive environment. Volunteers are needed in administration, to provide creative and recreational activities for day-care patients, to provide bereavement support and complementary therapies, to drive patients to and from day-care, to visit and befriend patients and carers in their own homes, to work in their warehouse, shops, reception, kitchen, to help with gardening and maintenance and fundraising.

Volunteering for Jewish Care offers challenge, stimulation and friendships and our volunteers bring a very special dynamic and commitment to our organisation. They support different client groups including older people, adults with physical disabilities and with mental health problems. Based throughout London and the south east there are opportunities in a wide variety of settings including day centres, residential homes, a one-to-one basis, helping with administrative support tasks or devising and running new projects. Volunteering also provides opportunities to develop skills, build confidence and take on new and increasingly responsible tasks.

RSVP - the Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme - is part of Community Services Volunteers. RSVP recruits and supports volunteers to work in a wide variety of venues, in fact anywhere their knowledge and expertise can be put to good use. Volunteers have a healthier and happier life while doing something they enjoy. They could be helping children in schools, befriending the elderly, assisting in their local museum or environmental project, knitting trauma teddies for children in distress or just chatting - the choice is theirs. RSVP will also support people wishing to organise their own volunteer activities. Contact RSVP to make a change to your life and your community.
