The following hospitals are looking for keen and enthusiastic volunteers to assist both staff and patients alike.  Compassionate and understanding individuals are needed to maintain the high levels of patient care.
 
Mother:     You mean you work hard and don't get paid?
Daughter:  And you know what - you feel great!
St. George's Hospital is looking for volunteers to help on the Information Desks, staff corridors, carry out general clerical duties such as photocopying etc. Volunteers also “meet and greet” patients and generally assist staff. You might help with the tea trolley that goes around the outpatients department and the library trolley that goes to the wards. Volunteers are required to monitor the CCTV screens.

The Royal London Hospital is looking for long-term volunteers to work in their fundraising shop for the London Air Ambulance, work on the Friends Mobile Trolley Shop, welcome patients and visitors and befriend patients on the ward. They need you to commit to a minimum of 6 months or indefinitely for between 2-5 hours a week.

The Friends of the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead are always seeking volunteers to work in the professionally-run and very busy hospital shop selling confectionery, toiletries, cards, toys, newspapers and magazines – everything a patient or member of staff may need. Volunteers are needed to fill shelves and work on the modern tills. Open 7 days a week, serving over 1000 customers a day. Full training provided. Volunteers are also needed to take the shop trolley up onto the wards. The positions are rewarding and worthwhile. Profits from the shop and trolley service provide a regular contribution to The Friends' general funds which supplement patient amenities and medical equipment.

The Voluntary Services Department of the University College Hospital is committed to helping improve the quality of life of patients in the hospitals. It does this by offering interested people the opportunity to interact on a social level with patients and staff, offering activities which enhance the high level of patient care offered by the Trust. They are currently recruiting library service volunteers, ward volunteers, welcome and information volunteers.
